GALLERY KTOは東京・原宿に位置するコンテンポラリーアートギャラリーです。
KTOはロシア語で「誰かの」を意味し、この場で作家と鑑賞者を繋ぐ存在でありたいと願い、日々新たな芸術を発信しています。
2019年に〈高松次郎「アンドロメダ」 版画展 A〜D シリーズ〉展を皮切りに、ケニー・シャーフやベルント・コべリングなどの展覧会を開催してきました。
今私たちが特に注目をしているのは、気鋭若手作家や美術史が見落としてきた中堅／ベテラン作家の存在です。普段は聞かない名前の作家や目にしない作風の作品は価値が無いのではなく、まだ気付かれていない魅力に溢れています。絵画・彫刻・版画・写真・アニメーション・インスタレーション作品等、枠に囚われない芸術作品を扱っていくことで、それぞれの価値を創り出していきます。
現在は原宿をメインスペースとし、渋谷・名古屋にもスペースを設け、さらに外苑前の美容室との提携により、4つのスペースにて年間約48本開催しています。
年内には東京・新宿に新たなスペースをオープン予定です。
これらの試みを通して、素晴らしい芸術体験を提供できるよう努めております。
GALLERY KTO is a contemporary art gallery located in Harajuku, Tokyo.
KTO means "someone's" in Russian, and we hope to be a link between the artist and the viewer in this space, and we are constantly introducing new art.
Starting in 2019 with the exhibition <Jiro Takamatsu "Andromeda" Prints, A-D Series>, we have hosted exhibitions by Kenny Scharf and Bernd Koberling, among others.
Now we are particularly interested in up-and-coming young artists and mid-career/experienced artists who have been overlooked by art history. Artists whose names we do not usually hear or whose styles we do not see are not worthless, but are full of charm that has not yet been noticed. By dealing with works of art that defy the boundaries of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, animation, installation work, etc., we create value for each of them.
Currently, with Harajuku as our main space, we also have spaces in Shibuya and Nagoya, and in cooperation with a beauty salon in Gaienmae, we hold about 48 exhibitions a year in 4 spaces. We plan to open a new space in Shinjuku, Tokyo, by the end of this year.
Through these endeavors, we strive to provide a wonderful artistic experience.
